Shutdown After Steam Download
And wow what a piece of crap this software is. I have to manually pause a download if I want to exit the program and continue later whereas Steam does it for you. As it detects when all your Steam downloads are finished and automatically shuts down your computer, this lightweight app is a perfect example of how little apps such as these help you carry out. I'm sure i'm the the only one who will download large games during the night. I do this all the time, but I also don't want my computer running all night. Is there any way to auto-shutdown my PC after steam finished downloading the game queue? Steam has an offline mode. If steam were going to shutdown it would likely just remove the time limit so you could play 'offline' forever. As for your games, if you didn't back them up, your. I started downloading a game. It reached 9GB out of 12GB total. I paused the download and shutdown my computer to go outside, but when I logged back in again in Steam, the game's download reset to.
Shutdown Computer After 1 Hour
Steam does not have an auto-shutdown feature built into it for when downloads complete. Here is my work around:
Look at the estimated time to complete the download and then give yourself a little more time (an hour extra and you should be safe).
Multiply the hours you chose by 3600 (this converts it into seconds). Remember this value.
Hit windows key, search cmd to bring up command line
In command line, enter this: shutdown -s -t [number from step 2], and then press enter
Here is an example command I would enter for an auto-shutdown in 1 hour: shutdown -s -t 3600
End-note: 1 hour has 3600 seconds, 2 hours 7200 seconds, and so on
